Czechs Go K on Guns And Migrants

Czechs don’t want migrants:

Brussels has threatened to take the Czech Republic to court after its government announced its withdrawal from the Commission scheme to force European Union (EU) countries to welcome migrants from the third world. Citing security issues, Czech Interior Minister Milan Chovanec said on Monday the Visegrád nation will not be resettling any more of the quota of 2,691 migrants demanded by the scheme, having so far taken just a dozen people who arrived uninvited to Italy and Greece on boats.

“Due to the aggravated security situation and the dysfunctionality of the whole system, the government approved… a proposal to halt this system for the Czech Republic,” Chovanec told a news conference following a cabinet meeting.

“That means the Czech Republic will not be asking for migrants to be relocated from Greece and Italy.”

In April, Brussels threatened to take legal action against countries refusing to go along with the legally binding EU scheme, which has been fiercely contested in Central and Eastern Europe, with Hungary and Slovakia challenging the plans in court.

The Czechs also have a plan to combat terrorism:

A couple of months ago, Czech President Milos Zeman made an unusual request: He urged citizens to arm themselves against a possible “super-Holocaust” carried out by Muslim terrorists.

Never mind that there are fewer than 4,000 Muslims in this country of 10 million people — gun purchases spiked. One shop owner in East Bohemia, a region in the northern center of the Czech Republic, told a local paper that people were scared of a “wave of Islamists.”

Now the country’s interior ministry is pushing a constitutional change that would let citizens use guns against terrorists. Proponents say this could save lives if an attack occurs and police are delayed or unable to make their way to the scene. To become law, Parliament must approve the proposal; they’ll vote in the coming months.

So many questions would have arisen before r/K Theory. Why might these issues be linked in the brain? What is precipitating this now? How can a European country that should be seeing “progress” toward leftism suddenly be reversing “progress,” and heading rightward?

What this does indicate is our culture of debt spending and the inefficiency promoted by r are combining to continue our slide toward the Apocalypse, and the return of K-selection. It is amazing how the human brains are designed to see these indicators, and begin the change-over, even before the actual K-selection begins. We are an amazing machine.

Spread r/K Theory, because the K-wave is sweeping over the whole world.

AC, have you considered talking about r/K with someone on a podcast? Hearing you discuss it with Stefan Molyneux would be fantastic. Or maybe someone like Henrik Palmgren of Red Ice. He’s a good interviewer and his show would introduce the concept to a whole new audience, no doubt. They both would give plenty of time to flesh out the theory, being willing to do a couple hours on it, at least.

I realize that there may be problems with doing that. And maybe you’re not the type who’s comfortable with the spoken media; I know it’s not my forte’. But it sure would be great, and would do great things for spreading the ideas.

Just a thought, and I’m sure you’ve considered it. But I thought I’d bring it up anyway. We need to get this out there in whatever ways possible. And as good as Stefan has been on it, he still misses some of the practical manifestations that we see in every day life right now.

I understand. Good news about the increasing traffic and interest in r/K. I think that even those who can understand it probably resist the full implications of some degree of biological determinism. I know I had that experience. We really like to think that we are fully in control, with 100% free will determining the shape and direction of society. (That said there are obviously many determinists that would like to think the obverse, to alleviate any responsibility they have in life,)

Speaking of which, I’m curious about your perspective on that aspect, as I don’t recall you having addressed it directly (though I could certainly be wrong; on all of it).

Well said, and reflects a lot of my thinking lately. I know the whole free will/determinism issue is a philosophical swamp that is hard to navigate. Religious implications too, etc. So it’s fraught, for sure. We’re a long way from understanding just how much we really have control over and how much we are indeed just “moist robots”, as Scott Adams puts it.

Again, I think this is what keeps a lot of people from really internalizing r/K and accepting it. Smart people like Henrik still flounder around trying to figure out the hypocrisy and contradictory actions of the left, forgetting all he’s (presumably) learned about r/K and how it explains these things he is baffled by. Stefan still does it too.

They’re definitely going to be allies with the Poles and Hungarians. They make decent guns too.
