Good Article at Xenosystems

Good article on how universities are driving students crazy here:

The American academy has become a self-propelling anxiety machine, in which steadily-consolidating totalitarianism and mental disintegration have been run-together into a circuit of amplification that no one knows how to turn off. Haidt and Lukianoff call it “vindictive protectiveness” driven by “emotional reasoning” which it in turn (nonlinearly) promotes.

There are two things at work. One, people don’t have real problems, due to resource availability. Make each day a desperate, Mad-Max, cannonball run, being chased by savages who want to kill you, and suddenly reading Hamlet is a whole lot less triggering.

Second, as the tier-one defectives begin carping about how triggering the disparity in outcomes is in the story of the three little pigs, they begin to teach less defective students to focus on the triggering people are feeling. Pretty soon, the madness has spread, and now the mass delusion is everywhere.

It will last until larger problems emerge, which they will shortly.
