Norway’s “Tough As Nails Female Soldiers”

Kind of amusing, if they weren’t going to die horribly and let their nation be conquered:

She’s marched for miles carrying gear that weighs as much as she does, killed animals for food during survival training and practised jumping out of planes to get behind enemy lines.

But Jannike, a pony-tailed 19-year-old from northern Norway, will only concede that she’s “pretty tough”.

She is part of the Hunter Troop, the world’s first all-female special forces training programme.

“I wanted to do something bigger, the toughest the army could offer me,” Jannike says. “I wanted to [see] how far I could push myself…”

Jannike speaks calmly but with conviction. She says that in a peaceful country like Norway, it’s difficult for her to keep in mind during training that they are actually “learning to kill”.

“But I try to have that perspective, because that’s what we’re really training for.”

There is a difference between being able to do violent things, and having the instinctual urges to do violent things. All of the females I ever ran into in the martial arts lacked that underlying reflexive aggression and violence that I saw in most of the men.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve known malicious bitches who could really enjoy being a sniper, and popping guys while remaining so hidden they couldn’t be found. I could see some women getting very good at that, just because they enjoyed it so much. But my impression has always been that putting women in the crush of violence that occurs between overtly violent men, where you only survive by ignoring risk and striking out violently, immediately, no matter the circumstances, is a prescription for failure.

Nevertheless, it is a good example of reversal in sex-specific traits, amygdala-atrophy detaching from reality, and something that can only exist when conflict is barely imaginable. This is r-selection.

Tell everyone about r/K Theory, because some things require specific instincts

[…] Norway’s “Tough As Nails Female Soldiers” […]

It’s an all female “special forces” unit because women can’t compete in mixed sex special forces unit.

Then its a double cruelty, its a cruelty to the society that wastes important resources on training and equipping substandard soldiers. And its cruelty to the women themselves to keep them from the reality check they woild have if other men were in the unit.

But my sympathy is limited, because these women also have an obligation to think about the things. They are simply on “the magic bus” acting like children at an amusement park. And so, they are part of the cruel behavior, encouraging it on each other and themselves.

This whole push to put females in combat reminds me of Fargo (the original movie, not the TV series.) The action took place in Minnesota, which I like to refer to as the “Sweden of the Western Hemisphere” because of how docile and progressive the population is. The setting was so brimming with safety and resources, that they allowed a heavily pregnant woman to serve as a cop. The ending scene has said cop confronting a violent criminal (who has already murdered several of the locals) with nothing more than a gun and a badge. We’re supposed to be heroically cheering this female cop on, but all I could think of was how easily the bad guy could have charged at her, tackling her and beating to death her and her unborn baby. Luckily for the cop, he didn’t. The movie Fargo is a fascinating look into the psychology of r-versus-K, and how r-selected societies can succeed, if they’re homogenous. (But only for a little while, as their r-selectedness leaves them extremely vulnerable to predation from outside their communities. Sounds like something you could write an entire blog post on. ^_~)

I thought the exact same thing! “If that gun jams,” I said, “Both her and the baby are going into the shredder next.” The enabling naivete on the part of the town, her husband, and herself, to put herself and her baby in the way of such danger, is flabbergasting. And we’re supposed to clap.

“They are not going to win hand-to-hand combat, but most of the time we use guns and a lot of the time they shoot better than the guys.”

Sure they’re going to die horribly if the bad dudes close the distance but come on how often do special forces get into close combat? Don’t be a bigot. Also they shoot better than guys. Don’t ask me to prove it just believe you stupid misogynist.

“Venderla, 22, passed the course last year. ‘Women think outside the box,’ she says. ‘Men just do what they are supposed to do. Maybe we are more capable of seeing another solution, a better solution.'”

Now, I’m no soldier, but do you really want grunts to “think outside the box”? Sure, you want smart and crafty officers and NCOs, and you don’t want downright stupid infantrymen, but I don’t think its feasible having every guy (sorry, gal) “thinking outside the box” in a combat situation. And the premise isn’t even true, there’s been a lot more guys who have taken outside the box positions and thought up outside the box inventions throughout history.

If this were true, that women were better at finding solutions in combat, why hasn’t any society in human history recruited women as elite shock troops to break enemy lines, and reaped the benefits? Why, from Rome to Carthage to China to Japan to the Mongols to the Mughals to the Ottomans to the modern armies of today, have they all been exclusively (or at least a vast majority 95%+) men? We’re expected to believe that in the course of warfare for the past 3,000 years man has invented horrific new weapons like gunpowder, artillery, and the atomic bomb to get a leg up on the competition, but that despite all that we’ve all been so blind to the true superweapon: women in combat. What a crock of shit.

Once shit starts going down and Daddy and Mommy’s little girl gets her mangled corpse (courtesy of an outside the box thought gone wrong) shipped back home you’re going to see women quickly stop trying to play soldier. As you said a couple months ago in another post:

“Until then, we will be entertained by manly little fuck-bunnies, who are bent on showing everyone how they can keep up with the boys.”

Because 99% of soldiering has nothing to do with this shit. It’s critical in that 20 minutes of terror following the 2 weeks of boredom, but you have to get through those two weeks first. What are those two weeks like?

Hours of digging fighting positions. Weeks of living out of a ruck with no running water. Hundreds of kilometers on your feet carrying more than your body weight on your back.

These women are never going to see combat because they’ll never get there. They won’t have any range, because they won’t be able to carry heavy enough rucks. They won’t get out of the FOB because they can’t handle not having more than bottled water for personal hygiene. They’ll die in an ambush or mortar attack because they can’t dig a fighting position.

And then after they get shot, they’ll all bleed out because they don’t have enough muscle mass to be hard to kill, and no one in the unit is strong enough to carry them off the fighting line to get first aid.

This is a parade ground, purely promotional “special forces” unit. They will never be deployed for anything that matters.

This will only stop if the male soldiers and the parents of the male soldiers make it clear that they will do whatever is necessary to stop it. Until then, mommy and daddy r will unconsciously regard it as a bonus.

At some point in a real fight it does just become a “shoot’em in the head” type of thing. I’ve never been in a real fight, but guys who have recounted as much to me. Case in point, offense is the best defense. If the unit depicted here (in Vietnam) had not charged- it would have been overrun and annihilated.

Do you think this is propaganda or not?

Because it if isn’t then it shows that even with K-selected societies r-selected ideology can override K-selected behaviours.

Look at their faces in the video. Do you see warriors? To me and maybe it is my basis but they look no different then when I go to the gym and see women doing boxing classes. Sure some will be dangerous but I think most would drop their gun rather than be killed. Most of history did have female warriors not because they can not fight but because a society that losses too many of its females die out or get over ran by societies that put men on the line. Say you have a town of 200, 50 are female of breeding age, 50 men of breeding age and the rest old people or young kids. If 40 of the men die fighting a war to defend their civilisation, how many babies next year can that society have? Answer is 50 if all the men have 10 wives. Now reserved that and say 40 women die. How many babies next year? Only 10 and a lot of guys sharing one woman. This is also not to even get started on the type of mother these woman would be vs the society that keep them away from fighting and killing.

You do know this is the force that managed so far to defeat all other forces in the conflict. Aside from Islamic State until Kobani where US airstrikes Spec Ops turned the tide decisively.

Interesting the Syrian war was preceded by a drought cutting back on resources and forcing K-selection:
http://time.com/4246248/middle-east-drought-that-may-contribute-to-syrian-war-is-worst-in-900-years-study-says/

If its true that female soldiers are fighting in the frontlines of the conflict there.

That gives rise to a hypothesis of mine.

Perhaps as r-selected society turns K-selected and war ensues both R-selected women and K-selected men will take up arms considering the influence of the ideology of gender equality or specifically feminism which would resonate among R-strategist females.

However given the innate superiority of the K-strategist males in war over other constituents. K-strategist males would dominate hence R-strategist females would be culled when they face K-strategist men.

Although technology may tip the balance.

What do you think?

Absolutely ridiculous, if they were actual combatants. These Danish pastries are intended as culturally-sensitive intel collectors who will be assigned to talk to female Muslim civilians. Even a culture as full of cognitive dissonance as the contemporary Scandinavians isn’t contemplating SR/DA work by the Swedish Bikini Team. After all, they have examples like this to learn from:

Just another puff piece to show that men and women are no different whatsoever. If any of you have taken any martial arts classes, you know that women are not really capable of either the aggressiveness, strength, size, or speed to ever be anything other than a graceful swan doing a “dance”. Force is a combination of speed and mass. Even if they could achieve the same speed, if their mass was less, their force was less. Not to mention smaller muscle padding and smaller bones.

Thinking outside the box can apply to tactics which are essential in a battle situation. Could someone please give me ten examples of a woman thinking outside the “box”? Are there really any great female inventors? Why not if they are so great at thinking outside the box? I also don’t believe that more women than men would be great shots. Men have much better spatial and visual skills. Sure, a woman COULD be a sniper. Unfortunately for them, they would have to hump it to their chosen kill zone where they would have to wait as long as necessary. Pee in their diapers if necessary. Put up with yucky insects and other animals. No, if these special forces “models” ever did see combat they would either wind up dead or have to be rescued by male units. Biology is such a bitch!

Evidently even the Scandinavians are smart enough not to put women into actual recon/direct action units. The Norwegian Bikini Team will be used to accompany real soldiers as intel gatherers in order to talk to Muslim women who would have some kind of primitive prohibition on speaking to men. So all these pictures of expensive high-speed training are nothing more than govt.-subsidised Xtreme sports for these chix, so that they can sell an image of them as door-kickin’ snakeeaters.

After all, the Scandis have real videos of real wymyn in action…even their cognitive dissonance can’t overcome something like this…can it?
