r vs K – A Study In Contrasts

Whoopi wants to flee in the face of the most minor hardship:

Veteran actress Whoopi Goldberg is making plans to leave the U.S. in case Donald Trump is elected as president on November. The 60-year old comedian openly expressed her sentiments over Trump’s blaming immigrants for U.S. problems.

Fox News reported that on the Wednesday episode of “The View,” Goldberg, a co-host of the show said, “I’ve always been an American, and this has always been my country, and we’ve always been able to have discussions.”

Whoopi’s amygdala is triggered by Donald, and her response is to flee to an area where it won’t be triggered. She can’t even tolerate ideas which differ from her own.

Then there is the other side of the coin:

Washington, D.C. is shutting down as this historic winter storm continues to cover the nation’s capital in snow.

But as the winds pick up speed and the snow piles up, the men who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier never stop keeping watch.

Pictures are linked at the article, and worth the clicks. Those Marines can tolerate any hardship, and the very idea of fleeing it would be intolerable.

[EDIT: As noted in the comments, the Tomb is not guarded by Marines, but rather by Soldiers of the United States Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment.]

There is a reason K will win in the end, and that is it. r-strategists flee hardship, K-strategists hunker down and embrace it.

All we are missing is the hardship, but obviously that is coming.
