The value of the information she made available is great—but real-world news events may have gotten ahead of her.

But whatever mistakes she made in handling the documents, the public interest value of the material that Winner is accused of revealing seems obvious. Coming just days after Vladimir Putin hinted that Russia had hacked the election but then claimed that it could have been the work of “patriots” unaffiliated with the Russian government, The Intercept reported the first direct link to the GRU, the Russian military intelligence agency…
So if the value of the information Winner made public were the sole criteria, she should probably be lionized in the same way that many people have lauded Edward Snowden.
It is all because she is not one of those fascist, murdering intelligence people, but rather a good Social Justice Warrior, acting to help the cause.
I think the amygdala prioritizes bad information more than good information. As we approach the Apocalypse and everyone’s amygdalae go into high gear, everyone is prioritizing the bad information about government, and that is producing a seeming bipartisan opposition to government, albeit for differing reasons and in different areas of policy. But as a result partisans on both sides can agree that they hate the government more than they love it, and this makes government rules less and less important.
This is also partly due to the increasing partisan split that occurs as the left goes ever more left, separating ever more from the K-strategists on the right. The left drags the government leftward enough to disgust K-strategists in some areas, while the remaining K in government is ever more intolerable to the new “white left.”
On the right, government assertions of authority against citizens on behalf of leftist initiatives are seen as evil. On Free Republic I now routinely see disparaging comments about domestic intelligence/security’s mass surveillance, as well as various regulatory agencies, especially those dealing with ranchers and the environment. On the left, those who assert authority against out-groups, such as immigrants, criminals, foreigners, and external threats are seen as an enemy, ranging from Law Enforcement, to intelligence/military agencies, to the President.
As loyalty to the government breaks down on all sides due to amygdala focusing on the ideological opposition in government, we are seeing a breakdown in the definition of what a traitor is. Obama can pardon Chelsea Manning, for leaking intelligence which was detrimental to the military in its wars overseas, as well as Puerto Rican terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera, who was a part of a group that killed Americans. Hillary is immune from prosecution simply because she has a record as a leftist ideologue. If Reality Winner had committed her crimes on Obama’s watch, she would have been pardoned too, because even our partisan Presidents don’t consider betraying the government treason, if the betrayal was done in furtherance of ideology.
We can’t continue as a nation like this, with each side seeing the other as equivalent to enemies of the nation, and every partisan seeing the government as an enemy. All the rules mean nothing now, and as we inch toward that, how much longer will it be before war against ideologues, complete with murder of the opposition is considered a pardonable offense?
Since after all, the opposition is just a group of Nazi fascists anyway who deserved what they got.
The thin bonds of our social construct are fraying day by day, and as they do, we head closer and closer to dissolving them altogether.

Reality Winner is an example of the ‘useful idiots’ degrading into useless idiots. She leaked a script that was supposed to be dribbled out in the news media for weeks. it is not a document of facts, but a narrative document, designed to give the left something to talk about after the Comey hearings.
Nearly everything they implied so far comes from the surveillance they did in real-time on the campaign as it happened. They have shown the rabbit holes they already went down. Now they are going to have to shift focus because they already know investigation into these areas will yield nothing actionable.
But Reality Winner couldn’t see the difference between a script versus some sort of actual research.

I think the best example of this was that one woman who refused to issue marriage licenses for gays in some tiny rural Southern county. K’s were enraged that the Supreme Court found “legalized and government-approved sodomy” in the Constitution, and r’s were pissed that some tiny local paper-pusher didn’t want to go through with it. Of course, if she refused to give ICE lawfully-required assistance to deport illegals, she would be hailed as a hero #resisting Orange Hitler.

I remember arguing with some acquaintances on a forum almost a year ago about this. I told them we’re headed for the shit, because there’s not much holding us together anymore. We aren’t united by religion. We aren’t united by blood/ethnicity. Our “shared values” are a joke – what shared values? What are the values of 2017 America? If we look at the media it’s sodomy, buying pointless shit, apathy and fucking anything that moves. Needless to say I don’t think I convinced anyone, I’m not the best debater and things are still pretty r. Since then I think things have gotten worse as Trump won and it doesn’t seem like the left is going to accept it, ever. I hope some of them realize what’s coming before it’s too late. Some are decent people, although some are rabbits that can reap what they sowed.
A last thought – what kind of name is Reality Winner? Did she change it or did her doped-out hippie parents think it would be cool?
