Trump Makes a Lot of Sense

It is scary how smart some of Trump’s ideas are:

Donald Trump does not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin, but he is supportive of one thing Putin is doing on the world stage.

During an interview with “Meet The Press” Sunday, Trump told moderator Chuck Todd that he supports Putin going out and “bombing the hell” out of the Islamic State in Syria, despite that they are doing so to support Syrian President Bashir al-Assad.

“I like that Putin is bombing the hell out of ISIS, and it’s going to be ISIS. I’ll tell you why — Putin has to get rid of ISIS because Putin doesn’t want ISIS coming into Russia,” said Trump, who leads the Washington Examiner’s latest power rankings.

Why is this such a radical opinion? Why would the elites portray it as out of touch and uneducated?

Best of all, Trump speaks such wisdom while being entertaining.

However, Trump made it clear that he does not trust the Russian president when pressed by the host.

“I don’t trust him,” Trump said. “I don’t trust him at all — other than we both got very good ratings the other night on ’60 Minutes’ ’cause it was with me and Putin. Can you believe this? So I don’t know. Did I get the ratings or did he?…”

“I would sit back and lets see what’s going on,” Trump said.

When Trump says something like that, interjects his likable schtick, and then returns to his idea, the likability wraps itself around his policy position. He is a more brilliant political mastermind than any other politician short of Reagan. That he is using that brilliance to further ideological confrontationalism, loyalty to America, gun rights, immigration sanity, and fiscal responsibility makes me think he is probably the last chance to save the republic, though I am doubtful that is actually possible at this point.

Regardless of all of that, the damage he does to the establishment GOP makes him the best candidate out there.

Trump’s 60 Minutes line was another one of what Scott Adams calls Wizard Kill Shots. In that statement, he put himself and Putin together as peers, and elevated himself to Putin’s level.
