Trump’s Stand on Guns Could Have Saved Four Marines

Four Marines killed in Terrorist Attack. Killer’s name : Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

The Daily Mail has a pic of the no-guns allowed sign on the front door, riddled with bullets.

ISIS tweeted the threat this morning with a Chattanooga hashtag.

Update: The tweet screengrab was a hoax, it turns out.

Trump came out publicly supporting arming troops on military bases.

In an interview with Ammoland he said: “President Clinton never should have passed a ban on soldiers being able to protect themselves on bases. America’s Armed Forces will be armed.”

Trump went on to decry gun free zones on military bases as a product of “political correctness” and said removing those zones “will… [enable soldiers] to defend themselves against terrorists.” He added, “Our brave soldiers should not be at risk because of policy created by civilian leadership.”

Trump has now prescribed two solutions only to immediately see the need for them underscored dramatically by unfolding events. Say what you will, he does seem to have an ability to see problems that need to be addressed while others are too focused on current events, or afraid of political fallout to propose anything meaningful.

Trump should up the ante – National Carry for military and veterans, to protect us from terrorism. Then he can add trained civilians later, and eventually make it a default part of citizenry.

“…eventually make it a default part of citizenry.”

It already is, and the SCOTUS determined in the Heller decision that one need not be connected to a “militia” for the second amendment to protect one’s right to BEAR arms.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Hey AC,

You wrote in a recent post that the ideas expressed in EvoPsych are not exactly spreading like wildfire, despite the books value and relevance. I just wanted to know if you are aware of a youtuber and podcaster by the name of Stefan Molynuex. The guy’s youtube channel is relatively modest in size, but his podcast gets a crazy amount of downloads. Recently he has been discussing r/k selection and how it relates to politics. He posted a video about a week ago titled “The Genetics of Politics | Liberals vs. Conservatives | Gene Wars” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLlTW2Ie-_Y).

He referenced your book as his main source at the two and half minute mark of the video I linked to.

I’m all for allowing our troops to carry, but there’s an erroneous assumption here that if you’re in the military you know how to use a gun ( a handgun specifically) and that’s just not true. Unless your MOD involved having a handgun on the job, or you have experience from your civilian life because that’s where your interest lie, being in the military doesn’t mean you’ve been trained to carry a handgun. Some military personnel never even go through basic training where they would get training with a rifle. They go to what’s called “fork and knife” school. Of course, mandating handgun training for all military personnel would fix this.
