Las Vegas Shooter Had Set Up Cameras

If you might ever end up running into this, food for thought:

As he fired round after round during an 11-minute stretch from a suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Paddock used video cameras to keep an eye out for police storming his hotel room, according to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo.

Paddock hid one camera in the peephole of his suite and two more in the hall, at least one of them disguised on a service cart, authorities said. At one point, he shot numerous rounds through the door, wounding a security guard. Paddock eventually put a gun in his own mouth and pulled the trigger as SWAT officers closed in. They found him with blood pooling behind his head and around the empty shell casings that littered the carpet, a handgun near his body.

“It was preplanned, extensively, and I’m pretty sure that he evaluated everything that he did in his actions, which is troublesome,” Lombardo said.

Interesting he planned perimeter surveillance. You would not normally see that before, though now every asshole who does this will probably feature it as part of their plan. Either he was an amateur who put a lot of thought into this, or he had some sort of experience observing how criminals watch out for Law Enforcement at a criminal site. It does make cognitive dysfunction slightly less likely if he was just a normal accountant who was out of work.

If there were no cops on scene, and it had just started so it was clear they were minutes off, I could have seen being down the hall with a Glock, and rushing the room just to get some pressure on the shooter until cops arrived. As surveillance aware as I am, I would almost certainly not have thought of this in the heat of the moment, or predicted the blast of high powered automatic rifle-fire that would have met me through the door.

So this is a good lesson in these mad times. First, focus on the odd. The amygdala is designed to, so let it, and listen to it. I might have seen the cart as odd, and thought it was a bomb, so at least I would have been somewhat cautious. Then approach from a blind spot. If it isn’t blind to cameras, kill the lights, come from an unexpected angle, look harmless as you approach, or do something unexpected.

But most of all, pause for a moment, assume you were bent on doing what is happening, and you planned it extensively. Imagine how you would thwart yourself, see yourself coming, and stop yourself, before you go charging in. Those who do these types of things may have prepared far more for them than you have. Here, if you pictured a camera, then a paperclip loaded into the right electric socket might have shut down that camera, and if not, there was a breaker to throw, or even a light switch somewhere that could have made that hallway a blindspot.

Then focus on not getting sideways with the police when they arrive, because they will arrive looking for anyone with a gun to engage.

Spread r/K Theory, because these are the times we live in

Another possibility. A pharmaceutically-induced homicidal psychotic break.

https://www.facebook.com/notes/john-ringo/a-theory-on-las-vegas/10155111388257055/

Ringo’s account of his wife’s behavior FITS this guy. No “lathered at the mouth” insanity the hotel staff would’ve noticed instantly. And this type of break leaves cold rationality intact – precisely what Paddock evidenced. This level of planning would otherwise be Jihadi or political, and no evidence of either of those has surfaced after four days.

After Ringo’s wife voluntarily checked herself into a mental hospital, the hospital discharged her because she was persuading other patients and some staff as to the rightness of her homicidal plan. That’s… an effective and adaptive form of madness.

It is simple to hook up a WiFi camera to a battery pack. Or a RF composite video camera to a RF transmitter and batteries. It would also be better hidden than powering it from a wall wart in the corridor. So, killing the power wouldn’t work.

A pinhole camera can be tiny, impossible to spot.

Switching off the lights wouldn’t work either if the murderer got creative. If you pick the right type, webcams and such can be very sensitive in the near infrared, so he could have hidden an infrared light source somewhere. It’s just a bunch of LEDs. Google “night vision wifi camera”… The light is invisible to the human eye, so unless you bring your own near-IR camera, there is no way to spot it.

Very, very difficult situation for the cops… Could have moved one floor up, fastened a tear gas can on the end of a string, and throw it inside the killer’s window using the string. The probability of the thing going off in your face isn’t zero, though… and you can’t break the window (he’d notice) so you need a glass cutter… impractical… best would be a drone with tear gas…

No glass cutter needed … just a large flat-bladded screwdriver, a smaller phillips head, glass suction cups and about 10 minutes to remove the trim and retaining screws. In fact, I soft of wonder how someone who put so much planning into his attack missed this. He could have removed the light of glass, shot a bunch of people, put the glass back in, and probably escaped clean. He might not have killed/injured as many, but would have been able to mount another attack.

The narcissist theory that this was him “winning” and he wanted someone to know *exactly* who did it sounds more and more possible.

With my army paranoia, I treat an out of place object as a potential IED (think the stuffed bear in Full Metal Jacket). Heh, the Engineers once rigged up a demo desk where everything – even the innocuous pen sitting on the surface – was an IED (the pen was attached to a wire drilled through the surface of the desk to explosives in the first drawer – just demo though, no real explosives).

The cameras make more sense if the guy claiming to be LVPD posting on 4-chan is real and telling the truth. (you might want to get some tin foil before reading the stuff at the link :p )

The rumor is that he had cameras inside the room as well, and was streaming offshore. It’s been confirmed that his internet usage was “unusually high” and suggested streaming.

This leads me back to thinking about an arms deal gone wrong. Camera in the hall to avoid “surprises” and a camera(s) inside to allow the principals overseas to oversee and direct the arms sale.

I said earlier I didn’t believe that there was two shooters and the extra sounds were echos but after seeing these two videos from a different area then it’s got to be two shooters. Also I thought that the room was one large room with both broken windows in the same room but now it’s two separate rooms. Makes no sense. This has all the trends of another false flag.

Here’s the taxi driver video. She was at the hotel and they were shooting over her head. She captured a second shooter, she said she thought tenth floor. There’s no doubt at all that there were two shooters. I heard they were deleting the video but so many people keep uploading it they can’t hide it.

I believe the whole FBI sting gone bad is bull as it wouldn’t be two separate shooters. I think they killed this guy and dumped his body in the room then started shooting.

I’m now not sure about this as the light is said to be from a strobe and it could be.
