I am specifically talking about the mainstream evangelicalism as it is nowadays.

True Faith cause Salvation. Not false faith that isn’t the Gospel like the Prosperity Gospel and other Gospels.

Its because Works inevitably flow from Faith. But if a person doesn’t bear fruit in the change in character and remain as unrepentantly evil as before. Can that person be said to have True Faith or Salvation?
And yes Finney’s Ministry is the problem in the opposite direction.
Neither Legalism not Libertinism is the way. There is a middle ground. Walking by the Spirit in God’s Grace allows this tightrope.

Romans 4:4-5 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Next, you should be wary of the “tightrope” you walk and why biblical gospel presentation is so important. This is Paul warning the Galatians about people putting the works of the law back into the gospel of Christ:
Galatians 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Also, the book of James was clearly not about the gospel of Jesus Christ as the books of John, Romans, Galatians, and Ephesians were. Jesus (see the book of John), the apostles (see Acts), and Paul all preached a gospel devoid of works.
Finally it is quite possible that working out people’s salvation is not the work of believers, whereas believers are clearly called to rebuke false gospels and preach the correct gospel:
Philippians 2: 12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
So take care what you communicate, Anon.

Something about this story makes no sense. A farmer plants with the promise to deliver crops at a future date. To protect himself against price drops, he shorts a futures contract against the crop he will deliver in the future.
