Update: Shooter is Steven Paddock, who it is believed either lived with Danley, and had her debit card in his room.
50 Dead now, and over 200 wounded. Media is indicating his weapon was not a converted Semi-auto, but rather a real fully automatic.
It will not surprise me if the shooter is an ultra-leftist. Last night 60 Minutes did a very glowing piece on Steve Scalise, who was shot at a congressional baseball game. Knowing how narcissists think, I am sure the way Scalise came off, like a true patriot and hero, and ultra-likable, would drive a leftist narcissist nuts. In his mind, not telling the side of the shooter, and describing how awful Republicans are, would be infuriating. He would feel marginalized and ignored. My guess would be this is the guy.

Sorry, the gunman is now known to have been lodged in that room since 9-28-2017 and had many large weapons, including fully automatic. It makes more sense that his motives are not tied to the 60 mins episode you mentioned but rather a calculated plan that took several days to stage.

ISIS is apparently claiming this guy. Doesn’t mean that he’s ISIS but his female accomplice is likely Indonesian (they are mostly muslim). Also this was highly, highly pre-planned with the weapon, amount of ammo and the location, and the target.
Brother also says he didn’t have machine guns, and LE implies the machine guns were not conversions of semi’s. It is not impossible he was armed up by someone.
OK. So – something doesn’t add up about the (admittedly little) information about the Vegas gunman. His profile just doesn’t have anything in it that would lead to a payoff in any way. Especially since he killed himself at the end. But, it is funny that he didn’t try to take as many cops out as possible before he offed himself.
Was this guy a patsy? Manipulate him into getting the room, then drug him, and make it appear a suicide? This would allow the real operator an easy getaway. If so, this operator has an excellent skillset and his sponsor would certainly want to use that asset more than once if possible.
The only motive that makes sense here is pure terrorism. I don’t see any motive here that would benefit the US government (already have the “Patriot” Act, long range murder with weapons that are already banned don’t make it a good grab for guns story, Trump seems to not give a shit about criticism so this event as a distraction doesn’t make sense – and, unlike Hillary, Trump doesn’t strike me as someone that would precipitate this sort of an event). I don’t really see an outcome that benefits another nation state. Islamic terrorism makes the most sense, but the alleged perpetrator doesn’t make a bit of sense….
You can never rule out an amygdala-tumor, like the Texas clocktower shooter, either. A physical defect can produce psychiatric symptoms. I hope his brain is intact enough for a quick exam.
