Beijing’s spy networks in the United States include up to 25,000 Chinese intelligence officers and more than 15,000 recruited agents who have stepped up offensive spying activities since 2012, according to a Chinese dissident with close ties to Beijing’s military and intelligence establishment.
Guo Wengui, a billionaire businessman who broke with the regime several months ago, said in an interview that he has close ties to the Ministry of State Security (MSS), the civilian intelligence service, and the military spy service of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Probably concentrated around DC, finance, universities, and technology companies. But you see the size of these things. If just averaged, each state has 500 intel officers, and 300 agents, all on duty full time, just from China. The truth is, most states probably have almost none though, so they are concentrated in specific areas.
Now if you live by a technologically important target like a notable University, you may have 1000 officers stationed in your area, running 600 assets, and they all have to have homes, work in cover jobs, and do all the things normal citizens would do. And that is just China. What is Russia doing? What is German economic espionage doing? What is French economic espionage doing? If China has judged it worth being there, so will others.
What is domestic US counter-intel doing? It has to have coverage for each foreign agent. And none of that considers private sector, hanging around waiting for a private actor to hire them. Now you’ve got spies all over, all living in your neighborhood as if they are normal people, and all on the clock 24 hours a day.
If you are lucky, they are just keeping track of who you are to control their territory. But become notable in any way, like being a meme-master on Chan or Reddit, and you can end up being looked at quite closely on the spur of the moment.
As I have said, keep your nose clean if you are fucking around in the alt-right. Privacy is dead in this age, and if your nose isn’t clean, there is no telling how it can bite you in the ass.

“What is domestic US counter-intel doing?”, they probably weren’t allowed to do shit under Obama. At some point there are so many foreign assets inside Universities, Corporations, Government there is no way to keep up. You just get further behind, and more penetrated. 40,000 Chinese spies since 2012? That’s bigger than the FBI. Sending that many people into a country to destabilize it is an act of war. And they advocate for gun control whilst running guns too btw.

WRT the notion that Chinese techies are not very creative, it should be remembered that their real job is to gather information for the Motherland. The really smart guys are back in China, putting the information together.
I spread memes on a couple apps. The best I can find (including your main r/K pic). This is done anonymously as far as the other users are concerned but I’ve often wondered if the apps themselves are compromised then I suppose “they” have already gathered intel. My hatred for r selected bullshit compels me to drop redpills though. Just can’t seem to help myself.
