We are reaching the apogee of r in the world of our politics.
Here is a post on Free Republic with some pictures from men’s fashion today, demonstrating the reversal in sexual dimorphism. This is obviously related to our political scene, with all of its Liberal girly-men. Interestingly, the Luddites, anti-industrialists who were themselves a byproduct of the success of the Industrial Revolution, also dressed up as women during protests, telling people they were the wives of their ficticious namesake, Nedd Ludd.. These things are timeless.
At the same time, the tremors from K’s approach are beginning, and Conservatism is rising.
Vox talks about Britain possibly leasing what appears to be over 1300 tons of gold to try to quell some volatility issues overseas in the gold market. It is hard to believe that other nations didn’t contribute to that pot as well. This is K-selection in politics peeking out of its hole, and panicked r-strategists are doing all they can to tamp it back down. It will be a losing battle.
JP Morgan goes around, hat in hand, looking for gold to borrow, and doesn’t even try to hide it. Supposedly, they have been holding short positions on Gold for a while. Some analysis I have seen has indicated that when the banks fail, it will happen in Europe first. As foreign governments print foreign currency so the banks will have something to give depositors, the thinking is it will trigger a flood into dollars, from Europeans trying to get their wealth out of their increasingly worthless currencies. The increase in demand for dollars will drive down gold’s worth in dollars. I’m not sure what is more interesting – that the governments seem to view everything as so tenuous that they will move that much gold on a moment’s notice, or that the banks are risking their life on a bet that the collapse will begin momentarily.
Yet another article on pension woes in the US. Cities are going bankrupt, states are going bankrupt, and the nations will as well, eventually. That is what will snap Conservatism back into power, and crush Liberalism. It is coming, and I expect revenge on Liberals will be harsh. Anders Brevik may eventually be cursed by the political right as too much of a moderate.
The Treasury is now not even trying to hide that they are lying. That is a bad sign.

As the r’s trigger our return back into K-selection, in-grouping begins, and Conservatism rises. When the adaptable psychologies in populations shift towards K, the successes will increasingly seek to shrug off the leaches and be free. Tolerated when times were good, and there was no real cost to their bloodsucking, Leftist leaches become a perceptible burden when times get tough. Conservative K’s love nothing more than violently rejecting the demands of entitled and selfish r’s, who themselves expect to be coddled by groveling Conservative K’s. As times get worse, expect this to increase to its apex, in the form of outright war on Liberal r’s, and maybe even widespread culling on a global scale. History would indicate that killing is a stress on the amygdala the first few pulls of the trigger, but after that there are few amygdala relaxants as potent as just killing the bastards who were trying to screw you. If that psychological threshold is crossed, watch out. I am getting emails from Liberals now, asking if I should really be making the case I do here. They feel it makes Liberals out to be so different, bordering on enemies, that it could lead to this type of violence. I am horrified, but what can I do, if this is the truth?
Italians want out of the Euro so they can begin competing with other nations, instead of being trapped in a big Kumbaya party with them. Capitalism rises with aggression towards outsiders.
The Swiss are segregating asylum seekers. Swiss Conservatism emerges, and not a moment too late.
Norway is making a rightward turn, embracing Conservatism. Vox was right. Anders Brevik was the tip of a spear which will pass right through the continent.
French nationalists are growing, and becoming increasingly anti-left and anti immigrant, and this is spreading to Germany and Austria. Golden Dawn was the moderate beginning of a rightward movement that will spread throughout Europe as the financial ecosystem collapses. Be grateful you are not a Liberal today.

As a conservative myself I’m not sure if I believe that you mean this “without the faintest hint of bemusement or approval” because on the one hand I understand where the “death wish” impulse comes from but on the other hand I’d rather not see America does degenerate to the point of vigilantism being semi-common because of the general chaos that would probably go with it. A lot of innocent people would probably be getting rather brutally hurt as well. It’s something I’d rather not see, but how history turns out isn’t up to me.
Everything here is more about spotting trends, than passing judgments, even if we make light of things.

Notice though, you don’t say I’d hate to see the Liberals and degenerates all killed by Dexter-esque serial killers. You say, ‘I’d hate the chaos that would likely go with it, and fear a few innocents might die too.’ Your reasonable concerns aside, that was my real point, and what the FR post was supposed to show – the growth of the divisions in groups within our nation, and the comfort Conservatives show with operating outside/without the legal/governmental system – something which twenty years ago would have been unthinkable. How many would laugh if the evening news had pictures of panicked Liberals running in terror through the streets, as the Hordes descended upon them?
Today, Liberals are increasingly seen as being an out-right enemy. This is a problem for Liberals, who need the protection of the strong within our society, if they are to survive the anarchy of the collapse which is coming, the mental cases who will likely blame them and target them, and the criminals who will look for effete Liberals to pillage. Wait until people’s relatives begin dying because of Obamacare, health coverage gets all screwed up, and the economy completes the final collapse it has been edging towards for some time now.
So I don’t approve of serial killers applying extra-judicial force on Liberals, but I can’t say I am overly worked up either. They should have minded their own business.
Plus, this site is about stimulating Liberal amygdalae, so I generally don’t make any effort to go through the socially-correct motions that practically function as amygdala-relaxants/social-lubricants. That, and we do like to try to add humor to the mix here and there.

What are your thoughts on Russia and its sensible new laws which have all western liberals throwing fits?
It makes me very sad in some ways, because I want America to win all her competitions very badly. But we have now enjoyed a period of resource excess for some time (allowing even jobs teaching womyn’s studies to generate a living), and Russia has endured resource shortages for a while (requiring hard work to survive). Our Libs look at that Russian psychology with horror, because they know what will happen to them, if that psychology comes back to this land.
Russia is psychologically lean, mean, and ready to roll in a harsh environment, where you must fight to survive. Here, Libs step all over each other to betray our nation to whatever enemy emerges, and elevate the degenerates in our ranks, while Russia demands loyalty to in-group, and polices its ranks of the weak and degenerate, to maximize group fitness and ability. If Americans and Russians were to end up in a war in Africa, statistics on disease rates indicate that gays in the American military will be nice little reservoirs of disease and pestilence, spread through our troops, which our Russian adversaries will not have to contend with. If Ebola breaks out in the locals, I’d rather not have any gays within my side in the theater, and I would love to see my enemy have gays spread throughout their ranks.
But on the brighter side, Russia is a prime example of why r’s are destined for defeat, in the large picture. Even with Communism clamped down for decades, K didn’t die. It just adapted to the new rules of competition, bided its time, and eventually emerged stronger, and more in-group-oriented than ever. Even as Lenin and Stalin tried to keep everyone oppressed, K’s sought power in government, aggressive in-groups formed within the government, military, and intelligence apparatus, and eventually, a 6th Dan Judoka from the KGB emerged on top, willing to destroy anyone who would weaken Russia or support out-group interests, even as the nation as a whole moved in the direction of free-enterprise. This is why I know freedom will never leave these shores, and when it returns, it will return better than ever.
The problem r has is, you can’t provide unlimited resources forever. Sooner or later, nature will intervene, resources will clamp down, and K will return with a vengeance.
It is almost like the world was designed that way.

Namely, some convervative whites are sympathizing more with our former mortal enemy than our own nation. I can’t say I find issue with their thought pattern if one considers the white/christian/convervative society to be their group vs. the metrosexual clown show that is america.

You nailed it – I agree totally. The real difference is, r’s want other people who will fight their enemies for them, while the r’s pretend to be neutral, and avoid any consequence of the conflict themselves by not getting involved. K’s want allies to fight alongside of, with whom they will form bonds of loyalty, and die with in the battle, if need be. The strange fact is, today’s K’s feel those bonds with Russian warriors, and actually feel that the domestic r’s are enemies – and just as evil as our foreign enemies of wars past. The difference is, K’s will fight and are arming up, almost like deer heading for higher ground hours before a tsunami.
My take is that r and K are diverging psychologically, to a degree rarely seen before, due to the newfangeld use of state debt to extend the r-period, and its r-adaptation. The slide in our species adaptable psychologies towards r is normally self correcting, because resources run out, and the population heads back towards K long before we get a leader like Obama in office. Today, resources would have run out and stayed out for a decade or so back in the days of Carter, but Reagan tapped the debt to fight the Soviets, and created an artificial extension of our r-selection that has lasted up until now. Additionally, the computer revolution in the interim has produced a further surge of dopamine activity through video games, 3D movies, social media, the internet, etc, and this has mimicked the effects of free resource availability on the brains of citizens. As a result, the adaptors among us have gone more r than they usually do, and that is bad for civility and civilization in the long term.
What you see above, is a measure of the stress on the amygdalae of the K’s caused by living in such close proximity to psychologies which are so aberrant, and it may presage civil war, if it continues without a collapse intervening. That stress will grow, and if it doesn’t stop somewhere, eventually it will make living, without taking action to assuage it, unbearable to the K’s. That is just how the amygdala works. The act which assuages it, if history is any guide, is killing the source of the stimulus, and then no longer seeing it around.
For K’s today, the thought of losing what they have, bother’s their amygdalae more than living with the Liberalism, so they are suppressing the urge to act – sort of choosing the lesser of two unpleasant options. I suspect if the collapse takes what they have, and makes it disappear, then there will be only one force driving them to act, and it will produce an intelligence-fueled, low-grade, individual-unit based civil war quite unlike anything we have seen before.
Everything with the amygdala is a balancing of relative stresses. How irritating is it to see Liberals destroying things like healthcare, the economy, and my team’s competitiveness, all while slapping each other on the back and cheering at how they are destroying our team? How irritating is it to contemplate risking being the subject of a national manhunt, and have the government arrest me, lock me up, and take everything I have?
The calculus will be different for everyone, and as you know, some guys aren’t wound too tightly, don’t have too much, and will snap first. Guys like you and me will probably end up waiting until the government is telling us we should get on the box cars, but some guys will snap when their mom is denied treatment, or just when their Social Security check stops coming, and they can’t make rent.
The only way this doesn’t go to civil war at some point, in my opinion, is if the natural process kicks in, and the economy collapses, or if disease breaks out, sweeps through the gays, and then moves into the high population centers (what I see as another natural, Designed process inherent to this system). The only other possibility is war, and I do wonder if the elites are planing to start one somehow, to hold on to their position. But even that will K-ify the population, restoring the balance when the war is over.
It sounds crazy, but this world isn’t designed to tolerate the forces which would devolve species (I happen to think that was purposeful, by the Designer), and Liberalism is just one of those forces. Either the very mechanisms of the human brains in a population will snap, and reset the balance, or eventually mother nature will step in and do it herself, or maybe the elites will gin up some turmoil which will hav a side effect of returning K. But it can’t go on like this forever, with happy-good feelings for all, indefinitely, and ever greater r-ification of the population. That has to come to an end.
I think the forces of nature and economics will give us exactly that in the near future.

That’s pretty brilliant. One good measure which jumps out, would be to run through the APA guidlines for avoiding the use of judgemental terminology in papers, and see to what degree those are adhered to. In times of high r, I will bet they are adhered to quite strongly as everyone tries to not judge anyone, while in times of high K, they are more ignored, as defectives are described as defectives.
I’ll go through that when I get a chance.

It is astonishing how closely his thoughts parallel your own.
I was not familiar with his writings, but agree, his concepts are quite similar. It is funny how McCloud sees civilization as the source of feminism. Civilization is what is afforded by free resource availability. Take away the resources, and civil behavior will go with it.
I think a lot of people have seen the specter of this, even if it only manifested subconsciously. Jeff Cooper, father of the modern handgun technique, often called Liberals rabbit people, though he didn’t seem to see an overt connection to r/K. Marx read Darwin and was immediately struck by the underlying emotional effects it had upon him, and saw a connection to politics, though I doubt he saw much, beyond his own terror.
But McCloud was right on it. Had he seen r/K, he would have undoubteldy immediately put it all together. As it is, what he did may be more impressive, given he apprently didn’t know of r/K, and wrote all he did out of a deep, intuitive understanding of the whole system.
