I am not really a car guy. But I know there are a lot of people who are pretty interested in them and love knowing all about the different engines and parts and models and whatever. I suspect UFOs would largely be in the same position if the government wasn’t always trying to hide information about them. I mean, in effect, they are just a form of transportation like a car would be and general interest in them would likely be similar to car enthusiasm after a honeymoon period where we got the “ya, its real. Here is how it works.”
Really though, they are just transport and/or toys like a car would be. UFOs as a topic is transient and given disclosure interest would be rather ephemeral. There is little real value in obsessing over them. Once you have seen 1 light in the sky, you have pretty much seen them all.

I wanted to reply to the anon who commented a couple days ago about struggling to support themself. Hang in there as best you can.
I have faced the same thing. Every new job is a drop down the ladder. I always believed it was some fault in my character which turned coworkers and bosses into backstabbing assholes who derive pleasure in making sure you are seen as an incompetent loser, shoehorned into the worst and most demeaning roles, and rode hard until they could fire you or you finally quit, demoralized and feeling like a failure.
You get to a point where you second guess yourself on everything and it totally screws up your head. Its completely possible that I am an incompetent idiot fit only to clean toilets and mop floors (which I have done). On the other hand, if I wasnt the smartest person at every job I’ve had I was damn near the top.
You start each job with an open mind, ready and willing to learn as much as you can and then at some point you realize its another dead end and you are being ridden out the door. You learn to keep your head down, hide your power level, do everything they tell you to do like a model employee with a positive attitude and the results are still the same.
I always thought my bosses and coworkers were threatened by my intelligence. I have the ability to learn just about anything I put my mind to and I have proven it many times. You would think any company would put a high value on an employee who could start at the bottom and rise up through the ranks but my experience has been the opposite. Even now I find it hard to accept that my failures are anything but my own fault but we know there is a machine out there working to shitcan competent, intelligent people.
The absolute worst thing about the process, besides seeing morons rise in a company while you fail, is the self doubt. Maybe I am stupid. Maybe I do suck. Maybe I am unemployable. You keep dropping down the job ladder until you’re so desperate you will do anything.
I wish I could end on a positive note. Saying hang in there, you will find something is sad because it totally disregards the dreams you had as a kid and the innate potential you had when you were young. But I do know this: karma is real. The assholes will eventually get what they deserve and it is worth hanging around to see that happen. I wish I could give you personal examples but we gotta stay anons.

The Library at Alexandria wasn’t that big a deal, in actuality. Why was the library so big? Every ship that came through was searched for books, and any books the library didn’t have got copied for the library as a tax.

Right now, I can walk into B&N, and the last time I did it, it was, front and center, books about high school transsexuals in a positive light. I think there are more books about transsexual teens than there actually are altered teens.
There are books and running threads about traumatic, awful middle school, high school and college reading lists. This isn’t the parents griping. It’s the kids after they’ve grown up. It’s the serious readers saying different short stories and books are traumatic. They can read the words just fine. They aren’t rioting against the bloodier Shakespeares. They are traumatized by being stuck reading stories that are portraits of weakness and wickedness. It’s not high literature. It’s all modern. Kids are being forced to spend time in the imagination of really sick, twisted, demented, people. They react by “hating” literature. You’d hate reading too, if it was abusive as this.
So, rather than write essays debating some weak writer or another- a Victorian strategy- let’s write more books that are more desireable and good, and just bury by indifference. That whole “Kids these days don’t know X” – Well, let’s use it. My kids think the Rolling Stones aren’t “satanic majesties”- they think they are wrinkly old people who write advertising jingles.
