News Briefs – 02/18/2024

Here are some news stories that might be of interest. Most articles will be more or less summarized in the headline. You can skim the headlines and summaries, and click the links if they are of interest. Keep in mind, many of these reports are products of an unreliable news media, so although they will be what people are hearing and talking about, there is no guarantee any one of them is necessarily correct, and we have had cases of outright lies make it onto these pages.

We have an advertiser, The Daily Financial Trends – a financial news aggregator designed to deliver the data other financial sites deliver, but in a fraction of the time. Give them a click and see if you prefer getting your financial news there.

Alexei Navalny died of ‘sudden death syndrome,’ authorities claim as devastated mom forbidden to see Putin critic’s body.

An interesting post on 4Chan which makes the case Putin would never have killed his political opposition, Navalny, now, as he is basking in the glow of the Tucker Carlson interview, and Americans are warming up to him as a reasonable leader. CIA/Cabal/Globohomo however is livid the public heard Putin’s side, and Putin looked like a calm, rational leader with a reasonable outlook on the world. CIA/Cabal/Globohomo would have been happy to kill Navalny, so they could then blame Putin, and make him look like a murderous dictator, who killed his political opposition, and detract from his good press of late. Clearly one side had a motive to want Navalny to die right now, and the other side had a motive to not want it. It raises the interesting question, of how Western intelligence would kill Navalny, while he was in a Russian penal colony. It almost makes you wonder if they have perhaps gotten The Beam on a satellite which passes over Russian territory. And whether Russia moved him to that remote colony because they uncovered a plot to kill him when he was in his previous facility. CIA is certainly the type of organization which would murder its own mother so it could blame an enemy for making it an orphan.

The speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament is accusing the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and other groups of killing Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Worth keeping track of accounts such as this:

Flashback to 2010 – During a tearful speech, Glenn Beck announced that he “might go blind in the next year” due to a rare eye condition known as macular dystrophy, which causes blurry vision. Note, he appears to have not gone blind, and Havana Syndrome produces vision loss which has been characterized as blurry. That was 2010. I cannot find it, but I once linked to an application I found online from Beck, when he lived in Conneticut which was looking for a permit to construct a wall around his house. It noted that at all hours of the day and night, cars were driving around the three sides of his property, while blatantly looking at his house, and they were often pulling into the driveway, sometimes even to get out and take pictures of the house.

Beethoven suffered from gastrointestinal complaints (the tumults?), and hearing loss, which nobody was ever able to figure out the cause of. It is not impossible a feature of most human societies has been fearful leaders at the top, of middling ability, who desperately sought to control the rise of any naturals in society, who became famous and accrued a following. And to do that, they deploy in the shadows units of plebes whose entire mission in life is the suppression of the natural gazelles, who themselves cannot fathom anyone would devote their life to the banal suppression of others, rather than strive themselves.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said Donald Trump and his organization owe $463.9 million, including interest on top of the $355 million, as well as $88 million for the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit, all of which he has to put in escrow before he can appeal.

Truckers plan to stop shipments to NYC in response to political hack judge Engoron’s $238 million ruling against Trump and his sons.

Kevin O’Leary of the popular television show “Shark Tank” said the Trump Engoron verdict is “un-American” and if not reversed on appeal, could potentially lead to other real estate developers facing similar charges from political rivals.

I think there will either be a massive quantity of bloodletting in the nation’s future, or there will be a massive quantity of despotic oppression. Not advocating this path, just observing the facts on the ground, but logically if you have to pay ~$1billion dollars to some jackboot scumbags, which path do you choose:

A.) pay the jackboots like a good slave
B.) pay some gang $500million to go kill the jackboot losers who fined you in the first place

Going to be a point where someone with means and connections does the math on non-compliance and the legal system of the USA goes the way of Mexico, where judges and such just get killed rather than the criminals listening to the rulings of an obviously corrupt system. Again, no advocacy for this, it’s evil third world low-iq behavior, but just an observation.

Exorbitant fines are…ahem…unconstitutional; but, hey, whose counting; let’s go with plan B. The oligarchs use it why not Trump?

“Denver’s hospitals are at risk of COLLAPSE because of migrant crisis, with one health system providing $17M of unpaid care in just three months.”

This is happening all over the US. I will say it again, do not plan on receiving modern medical care in the future. America is degenerating to an earlier state, probably one more akin to the early 1900’s and possibly the 1800’s. Do not plan on receiving medical care in the future. Hospitals will become dirtier, less professional and far less effective in the future. And don’t even think about legal recourse, you will have to sign away those in papers just to set foot in the hospital.

Fortunately the hospitals were always a bunch of pill pushers and glorified search engines anyway.
Aside from stitching lacerations, setting fractures and prescribing antibiotics and painkillers, their entire schtick is bell and whistles.
The whole thing is a racket to extract wealth from the dying instead of it being passed to their children.

US Healthcare is already pretty much down the toilet. My wife kept getting texts from a doctor’s office (automated) telling her she needs to schedule a follow up appointment. She finally called, and couldn’t get a “follow up” appointment until April. Healthcare rationing has been here for a while.

Is this the Beam? Night before last, I was awakened at 3:20am by a drip of cold water on my left elbow. As if someone squeezed a dripper, letting it pour down my elbow. I wiped it… It was perfectly dry. No water.
This repeated three times. A minute later I got the wet drip on my chest. Even though I know there’s no plumbing above my bed, I checked the ceiling by flashlight. No spot, no drip. There was no wetness anywhere.
I turned over, pulled my blanket over my head. The drip hit my neck. I thought about running outside to see which of my neighbours’ light was on, suspecting surveillance may be directing this. But I didn’t get up.
This went on for about 20 minutes. Distinctly cold wetness. No vibration, no crackling. No other stimulus.

I recall another poster mentioned hearing the radio barely audible in another room while sleeping. Recently, I got an erection that woke me up from sleeping the likes that I haven’t had in 20 years. While I was wondering wtf, the sound of the radio in my kitchen down the hall was loud enough to hear but not make out the words. I’d like to have this technology for my own use, but assume it’s probably not done to help me. Got out of bed and the radio noise ended. I’ve had the low radio sound before but the hard erection is a new addition. Wtf

Re: 4Chan on Navalny. Gilbert Doctorow made a a similar argument….

why would Putin want to murder Navalny, when the man is now largely forgotten within Russia. Navalny is yesterday’s news and his ‘anti-corruption’ campaign is irrelevant to Russians in the midst of an existential struggle with the Collective West that is being fought on the territory of Ukraine? However, the murder of Navalny clearly serves the interests of that same Collective West as an intended antidote to the major Soft Power coup of the Carlson Tucker interview with Vladimir Putin just a week ago and perhaps even more important, to the follow-up Tucker News Briefs showing his visits to the Kievskaya Metro Station and to an Auchan supermarket in downtown Moscow.

Huh…so I’m watching the “V” TV series from 2009-2011.

In this remake, the aliens plan on harvesting the best DNA of humanity to fast-track their evolution. The human resistance goal is to corrupt the DNA of the best humans the aliens are allowing to live aboard their ships. This corruption is to happen against the last batch of humans to go onboard.

How are they planning to corrupt the DNA?

They will acquire a simple flu strain and program it to destroy the reproductive functions of any DNA that it encounters. Once combined with a larger pool of DNA, the corrupted DNA will render the others useless.

Wow, a dinky commuter box with just enough room to make a small grocery run on your way home from your soul-sucking cubicle nightmare of a job…. so exactly the correct market for an electric car. Haven’t finished vid, but assuming they leverage the extreme efficiency to reduce the batteries thus reducing the weight but also the range but nobody is actually going to care about that because they are buying it to avoid having to buy $7 a gallon gasoline in California to make it to their cubicle hellhole an hour away which is why a CHEAP EV actually makes sense there. At least the parts of California where it’s flat and dry which is where most of the people live.

In case you couldn’t tell I don’t like EVs, but I also acknowledge that there really are clear cut usage cases for one. I live in a place that off roading is very possible, freezes in the Winter, and live a life where I have to haul things on a regular basis like lumber and plywood, so I drive a pickup. But for urbanites a little commuter box that skips the fuel bill makes a lot more sense as a daily driver.

As Vox Day recently pointed out, once lasers become ubiquitous on the battlefield drones will be obsolete.

However if drones are fitted with AI that can make manoeuvre decisions to thwart the targeting then it may still be game on. The struggle between offence and defence, what Rees Mogg and Davidson call the Power Equation, never ends.
