It is tough to tell what is real these days, and granted, given they are trying to get people off meat, this is suspicious. Bodybuilders routinely eat pounds of steak per day, and I am not aware of massively higher cancer rates among them. However there has long been an association between red meat and colon cancer, and maybe other cancers. What these new studies are claiming is there are little infectious self-replicating DNA pieces (like plasmids) in beef and cows milk, which act kind of like viruses (just without the viral shell), and which would likely be heat-resistant. They think they may be infecting human cells, and in people who have certain genetic factors, they set off the formation of cancers. It might mean grass fed beef raised spread out in fields in small numbers could have less of these infectious agents infecting their tissues than cows raised crammed together in feedlots, under conditions where infectious agents would spread easily. Of course it would not surprise me if the fake meat made from immortal cancer cell lines was rife with these types of infectious agents, and something like them was what made the cells immortal to begin with. I don’t understand why they are worried about a special election in August of this year, when the election of Fetterman in the first place demonstrates that, at least in statewide elections, they can “elect” anyone they want to.
For awhile, Governor Wolf used COVID as an excuse to govern the state through a state of emergency, ignoring the legislature, and he vetoed all legislative attempts to prevent that and the courts backed him. In 2021 the legislature worked out a way out of this, by putting legislation to curb the governor’s emergency powers on the ballot. The ballot resolution went before the voters not just in an off year, but in May 2021, where the only other measures were some local council elections and a few other ballot resolutions, so Soros was caught napping and did nothing to prevent the resolution from passing. They may be worried about a repeat with an off year Senate election in August 2023. But I don’t think they will be caught napping this time.
I also speculate if the Cabal wants voters to realize that this is rigged. They had the option of nominating Conor Lamb as the Democratic nominee. He was a Congressman, also from the Pittsburgh area, who if I remember had an actual career before entering politics, and can also speak coherently, feed himself, and is unlikely to drop dead this year. He might even have won legitimacy. And he would have done everything the Cabal/ Soros wanted to in the Senate. Its the same with Biden. There are still some plausible Donk pols out there, so why promote people like Biden, Fetterman, and Hobbs?

Well, I was wondering why Russia is taking so long to move, and now I’ve found out why.
The US has supplied 7500 RAAM artillery shells to Ukraine. These artillery shells are packed with 9 mines apiece! They just wiped out a whole Russian Marine brigade:

That is a game changer. Unreal. A whole Brigade! Without tanks, infantry is slaughtered in an artillery barrage—Now, a whole big reversal–whole tank brigades can be wiped out also with an artillery barrage.
This war is very interesting in that it seems all things are useless. Paratroop drops now are impossible because of the danger of anti-aircraft missile systems and now tanks are rendered useless by artillery delivered mines.

But in general, yeah, C4ISR has made this Operation much much more like Chess. And almost nothing like poker.
It was mostly that brigades equipment getting destroyed, old as it is. That’s why the Russians don’t act so mad about losing it. Old equipment and Wagner prisoners aren’t a big deal to them. Still they will likely mine and shoot an extreme number of mines into Ukraine as a response.
Not unfair re: material, but I doubt the Russians will respond with mines of their own. They won’t want to have to wait for them to self-destruct if they get a chance to make their own advance, and when the Ukes start collapsing (not if) the Russians won’t hesitate to take up the slack.
Rather than mines, the Russians will respond with counter-battery, which they are masters of.
The brigade claim was from the Ukes, which means it is a complete lie. If they are claiming a brigade, I would be betting on it being a platoon (4 tanks.)
The Russians know how to deal with mines, so this mainly means that it can slow them down. The Russians either clear them with mine clearing explosives, or just wait for the mines to time out. The self-destruct time on these is 4 hours, so remember that to keep nine mines on the ground in an area (not a lot) you need six shells a day. It’s more likely that you deploy these in 16-32 round barrages, and even then, that area that you deny costs you a hundred or more rounds a day. For one location.
It also means that you are having to fire these shells on a schedule, in a fairly defined area (based on range). The Russians can get a pretty good guess of when you are opening up, and have a good idea of where to be to have you in range. Counter-battery usually takes 90 seconds. If you have an edge, like knowing when and roughly where the fire is going to come from, it can be much less. It takes at least 60 seconds to ass up and move artillery, every time, and that is if you are good and not too tired.
So, they just don’t get used that way. You instead rely on intel, and fire these in the path of a moving unit to deny them the area and slow them down. Mines are really shitty as a direct attack weapon. They are area denial, in that when you know they are there you just don’t go in.
The ukes are going to need a lot of luck to use these extensively. It takes a lot of ISR to use these well, and I just don’t think the Ukes have the ability to keep that kind of ISR going, even with the CIA providing them space assets. If we are providing it with side scan radar, well, when the Russians get tired of it, those planes become combatants and we find out how “wiped out” the Russian air force actually is.
Business Insider is notoriously inaccurate.
Russia’s main operational objective is the destruction – not defeat, but destruction – of the Ukrainian national military capability. That is the destruction of Ukraine’s equipment. Analysts talk about Ukraine being on their third army. The Russia s destroyed the pre-war Ukrainian military equipment by April last year. NATO then flooded Ukraine with most of their Soviet era weapons, along with selected western weapons. Russia largy destroyed that equipment by last fall. That is why Ukraine has been begging for more weapons. The little they have received now constitutes the third, and weakest, army the Ukrainians have fielded. You won’t read about that in most western publications including Business Insider.
The Russians destruction of the Ukrainian military capability expanded to missile and drone strikes on the national electrical and transportation systems, factories, and warehouses. Western publications, including Business Insider, published confident predictions that Russia had very few missiles. When the strikes grew in intensity, they kept predicting the Russia s would run out . . . any day now. But the strikes got bigger and more frequently. Lately, they have tapered off. I suspect that has less to do with any shortage in missiles and more to do with a shortage of worthwhile targets. At the same time the Russians have been increasingly using high altitude bombers, a twist I will bring up below.
To attain the objective of destroying Ukraine’s military manpower reserves, Russia has been using Bakhmut. That attack is being largely, but not entirely, run by the Wagner Private Military Company augmented by Russian paratroopers. The Ukrainians deaths in Bakhmut have running in the 500-1000 per day over the last few.weeks. That’s based on Ukrainian sources. However, it seems experienced Ukrainian soldiers remain bunkered down below ground to protect themselves from the brutal Russia artillery while the newly arrived soldiers are forced into the above ground positions where most die the first day they arrive to be replaced by a new batch the next day. That’s why it’s called the Bakhmut meat grinder, or even Operation Meatgrinder.
To “flush out” the better Ukrainian units, the Russians have made attacks in various areas both north and south of Bakhmut. The Ukrainians have responded by pulling better units away from Bakhmut, rushing them to the area of the new Russian attack, then transporting them back to Bakhmut once the fighting subsides. The movement from Bakhmut, and then back to Bakhmut exposes them to artillery and air attack. The fighting in the new location also places these Ukrainian units in positions which were much more exposed than their deep bunkers in Bakhmut. All of that allows the Russians opportunities to kill these better Ukrainian soldiers.
Russia used an attack on Vuhledar to flush out the Ukrainians. The Russians sent multiple simultaneous attacks from several different directions which looked like a major attack, but which appear now to have been either feints or armed reconnaissance. Whatever you want to call them, the Ukrainians counterattacked each Russian probing attack with artillery, or armored vehicles, or unmounted troops, or a combination of all three. When they did, the Russians then used artillery and tactical aviation to strike at the Ukrainians who had revealed themselves.
One of the truly new features here is the increased presence of Russian tactical aviation over the battlefield. It looks like the Ukrainian air defenses have been beaten down enough that the Russians are comfortable using their aviation more. That includes high altitude bombing and lower altitude ground support. Meanwhile Ukraine flies almost nothing because their air force is virtually destroyed. That’s why they are begging for F16s.
Back to Vuhledar. Russia sent forces from multiple directions. One of those units came under heavy artillery. Several of the lead vehicles also hit mines. The force stopped, extracted the wounded from their vehicles and withdrew in good order. I think later reports had Russian killed at a few dozen – a lot less than what the initial panicked reports claimed. I don’t know why Business Insider reported differently, other than their notorious inaccuracy when it comes to Ukraine. I also seem to remember the Russians went back in later and recovered their damaged and destroyed vehicles. I have no idea what the damage the Ukrainians took.
Let’s step back and put the Vuhledar fight into context. The Russian’s operational plan is to destroy the Ukrainian nation’s ability to field a military. At this point, ground has no meaning. Killing Ukrainians and destroying equipment is the name.of the game. The Russians pick up ground only as much as it supports the primary objective. The Russians know that once the Ukrainian military has been shattered, they can walk to any part of Ukraine they want. To accomplish their operational goal, the Russians use a variety of tactics including sieges, encirclements, feints, armed reconnaissance, etc.
Final thought – you rarely see “game changers” in warfare. And so far there has been exactly none in the Ukraine war. So far, the west has given Ukraine four things the media, including Business Insider, has labaled “game changers”: UAVs, Starlink, M777, and HIMAARs. Except the Russians keep winning, and the Ukrainians keep losing. I doubt artillery fired land mines, something that has been around forever, will change anything in this war. The same goes for Leopard 2 tanks, F16s, etc. The only true game changer I could see would be the introduction of nukes or widespread use of chemical weapons. I think those would be game changers only in a negative sense because their use would give the Russians free reign to annihilate Ukraine, and I suspect 80 percent of the world would fully support Russia. Because of that, I don’t think there will be any true game changers. This war will continue to be what war normally is, a tedious, grimy, deadly business.

Most likely unrelated, but my wife is currently in the hospital for a similar thing. I took her to the ER Wednesday for shortness of breath, and it turned out she had clots in both lungs. A later test showed a clot in her leg. She had surgery 3 weeks ago tomorrow, so it might have been related to that. The blood thinners they put her on seem to have caused blood to come from places it shouldn’t.
None of my immediate family took the Clot Shot. I wouldn’t allow it.
