Two More Attacks on Police

One mobile shooter fleeing a scene in Texas

When officers walked into the alley, they saw a Chervolet Impala speeding toward them, Senties said. A security guard was running after the car with his gun drawn. He indicated to the officers there was a need to stop the car. Then the offices saw a gun muzzle flash from the passenger side of the car. Fearing for their safety and the safety of others, both officer opened fire.

No one was wounded in the gunfire.

One physical fight with a motorcycle cop, who had to be saved by passing civilians.

George Cooper, Antonio Velazquez and Christopher Carver all stopped at the intersection of Winter Lake Rd. and Camellia Dr., Sunday at 9 a.m., to help Deputy Mike Walsh who was being attacked by Corey Johnson, 32, according to Sheriff Judd.

Cooper said he was driving down the road at 60 miles-per-hour when he saw Deputy Walsh being punched by Johnson.

“The guy just started beating him. Started hitting him, beating him, then he got on top of him,” said Cooper. “I jumped out my truck and I just ran and said, ‘get up off him.’ And then I start chasing him.”

At that time, Velazquez had pulled over to help the deputy too.

This would happen normally, just due to the transition to K, but there is another reason making it worse:

The New England Police Benevolent Association boycotted the event to protest Obama’s lack of support for law enforcement in an era of anti-cop violence.

The Obama White House has overseen a “horror show” of lawlessness, the union charged, with cops as the intended victims.

The association’s president Jerry Flynn gave a statement to the Boston Herald about its reasoning for the boycott.

Our members are enraged at his lack of support of law enforcement. It’s clear that he has an agenda, and unfortunately the police are not part of his agenda.

Let’s face it, (there have been) eight people killed in a nine-day period, eight police officers, and his silence up until recently has been deafening. And the real sad part of this — and when I went to the White House in the first term with (Vice President) Joe Biden — he said to me that he would be the voice of law enforcement. Well, as much as I love and adore Joe, his voice has been silent as well. So it’s not an Obama problem, it’s an administration problem.

This is a horror show, this is an epidemic of lawless people trying to kill police officers for no apparent reasons. Case in point is the lieutenant who was pumping gas in Houston. Over 7,000 people were at that church, and where was he (Obama)? Why wasn’t he there instead of a unity breakfast?

The chill winds are blowing, and people are taking sides.

The funny thing is, cop deaths have never been lower in this country — but the perception is what matters, and for the cops who think that there’s an epidemic, it is as real as it needs to be.
