Technological Accomplishments, r vs K

In times of K, we organized all the best and brightest, landed men on the moon, and then brought them back – just because.

In times of r, we organized our best minds to try and find a way to stop all the elevators from smelling like urine:

This week, the agency will start misting a bacteria-eating enzyme in a single elevator shaft at the well-traveled and particularly stinky Civic Center station. It will release the chemical concoction every hour and won’t interrupt passengers, SFGate reports…

In 2012, the Civic Center station made headlines when a work crew pulled apart a broken escalator and discovered so much human excrement inside, they had to call a hazardous-materials team.

Notice the second part is about an escalator. I love how they just threw that in, in passing. In San Francisco they take craps on the escalator. Think about that for a minute, and then notice that they haven’t even gotten to try and fix that yet. That is on the back burner.

They are still stuck on the peeing in the elevators, and they are still not sure they have pulled off a fix for that yet. To say nothing of whether I want to be breathing an aerosolized, possibly immunogenic protein enzyme that “eats bacteria” – something so stupid I can almost guarantee that some species is going to be fermenting that urine.

I have to admit, I thought this was stupid when I selected this article, but I grossly underestimated how stupid. I thought it was some sort of flush system that would wash the elevator clean each hour or so, flushing all the feces and urine in the elevator to a drain, and carting it away to the sewer. I thought the funny part was that they had given up on teaching the retarded population not to pee and poop in the elevators.

It turns out the funny part was how retarded their system is. They just water-proofed the floor so the urine will pool, and every so often they’ll spray something to maybe, possibly keep the bacterial growth down on the human waste you will be standing in if you take that elevator. Is standing in an elevator filled with unfermented urine and feces better than just letting it all liquefy and run out like it did before? And it is not even clear how the spray is organized. Will people be standing in there when a nice mist of “bacteria-eating” enzymatic spray wafts down over them? With idiots like this, it is entirely possible.

And why is it Japan doesn’t have a problem with people shitting and pissing in the elevators in the first place? Has any Japanese guy anywhere, ever squatted and shit on an escalator as it was carrying him up to a second floor landing? Maybe we should look at that, when trying to fix this problem.

This is what it was like in the Dark Ages. The population was filled with imbeciles, everything sucked, and people didn’t even bother to keep written records, because what is there of note going on? Moonbeam tried spreading clay from the river on the urine that filled the old bath house, to see if he could cut down on the smell? It would be bigger news that the broader society thought that was a huge leap forward, and deserved a press release and a news story.

What saved the Dark Ages was the Apocalypse went down. The fertile Medieval Warming Period came to an end, and crop shortages created famines that culled the weak and unable. Then Y. pestis swept through the population, and killed all the imbeciles and half-wits. Next thing you know Da Vinci was designing bicycles, and underwater breathing apparati, and doing ground breaking work in anatomy, just because. Art flourished, scientific thought exploded, and Europe was back riding high. The Renaissance happened for a reason.

It all reminds me of a blog called “The Eugenicist.” It’s catchphrase was, “…Because the unfit are not just going to start killing themselves.”

I hate to sound extreme, but there are some problems in this society which are not going away until the Apocalypse brings back the deft hand of Darwinian selection. I’m pretty sure people who can’t tell the difference between an elevator and a bathroom fall under that heading.

Fortunately for us, we just happen to have an Apocalypse just around our corner.

In all fairness, third world countries like Mexico don’t have a problem with people pissing in elevators. Just American liberals. In the Dark Ages, there were particular places you took a piss, and it wasn’t just wherever you were (unless you were in the countryside and away from a house.)

In fact, the only other place I can recall hearing about this sort of behavior was… pre-Revolutionary Versailles.

Could you provide us with a link for “The Eugenicist”? I found a blog called “EUGENICS AIDS, Man-made Viruses, Vaccines, GMO’s, and the culling of mankind” . Is that it?

I lived in NYC in the 1970’s when young. Could not believe the unspeakable filth in the public conveyances and facilities. Less filthy and disgusting is considered a great accomplishment there today. Yet we had to listen to a constant barrage of do-good’ers telling us to abandon our automobiles and use public transit that continues to this day. Trust me, the filthy and dysfunctional fight from every angle to keep us from separating ourselves from them. The word public became a euphemism for disgusting.

There was a time when the people traveling in the transit systems looked like the best of society. NYC subways had woven wicker seats, frosted glass lighting. Men dressed in suits and women office workers donned hats! Tradesmen even had an elegance and I know this from first hand accounts of family. There are photographs to prove it. American and even European cities were never perfect and had their problems, but people tried to be hygienic. r=filth.

My work takes me to Manhattan infrequently. One of the interludes was between 2011-ish and early 2016. I remember when I first started going in the 2009 era, I was surprised by how pleasant, safe and relatively clean Manhattan was. By my last visit this spring, Manhattan was much filthier and less well-regulated. The de Blassio effect was far more concrete than I expected. Until my last trip, I hadn’t seen the stereotypical skell-camp in the subway tunnels in Manhattan in the first few trips, but they were there in 2016. The city is smellier, filthier, less efficient, and overall less pleasant.

Had to start a new thread as i displace the post button if the comment goes on too long.

The Mexicans and other third world countries probably do not have this problem as they are poor and hardship probably leads to a K type. They are in more of an aspiration mode yielding an appreciation of public niceties like trains, escalators, beautiful buildings, etc. In many abysmally poor areas, people clean the roads, paint their dwellings in bright beautiful colors and perform other acts of civic loveliness. Maybe r and k are partially static in certain cultures and genetic groups. This is why some poor areas are third world shit-holes and others are as described above. This is why some of us are hard K and maybe even make our lives worse for it regardless of the r-promoting influences of our time and place in history. Perhaps this defines a conservative.

Two beautiful “complementary???”, commentaries back to back.
First about the low IQ in elevators.
The next about a man running for USA President courting the low IQs.

They can’t say who is actually doing the pissing and shitting in the elevators because that would be racist. What I want to know is how the hell they were able to get excrement inside the escalators? I don’t think I’d be able to drop my trousers and take a dump fast enough before having to get off.

I used to go to France for my job. Each time in Paris, people peed wherever…on the side of a building, on a tree like dogs, in the subway or any tunnel. Disgusting!
