Duarte Wants Muslim Refugees

This is the problem with political bomb-throwers:

President Rodrigo Duterte sees no problem accepting refugees from conflict-torn parts of the world even if the Philippines gets “filled to the brim.”

Duterte made this announcement even as he slammed the West, which he said has been keen on reprimanding him over his human rights records but has not displayed enough compassion for refugees who are mostly from conflict-ridden Middle Eastern and African countries.

“They can always come here and we will welcome them until we are filled to the brim. It’s alright,” Duterte said in an interview with Al Jazeera’s 101 East.

Movements in need of leaders kind of follow the rule that if you build it, they will come. “They” may be those with well adapted amygdalae who think like you. But they can also be amygdala-addled narcissists who just want to exploit the movement to in-group themselves and insulate themselves from the mob the movement represents, as they ride an easy path to power.

You can usually recognize the narcissists by their extremism. A read-deal leader wants to secure the border, stop immigration, and expel the illegal immigrants. Their amygdala recognizes that is the easiest path forward according to reality, and they don’t need to adopt an extreme position to ease the angst on their amygdala.

A narcissist desperate to shut off angst wants to fire up the ovens and feed every last migrant into them. Taking the more extreme path, though much more difficult and amygdala-stimulating in reality, performs the required function of assuaging the amygdala within the mind more effectively when contemplated.

In short the real leader seeks the assuage the angst in reality, while the narcissist is more focused on assuaging amygdala in the mind.

I have felt Duarte was not a Trumpian K-strategist. His outbursts, his bragging of promiscuity, and how quickly he granted death powers to numerous individuals he obviously could not know personally, all speak against him being a true K. I also never liked his rape joke. I held out hope he was just playing the media, but now, welcoming Muslims obviously shows a lack of in-grouping that will probably tarnish his image with his citizens, eventually.

Duarte is a manifestation of K. The people wanted the crime to stop, and in their environment, it ended up being kill the criminals, or let crime run rampant. They chose to do what needed to be done. But in choosing someone of sub-par amygdala-function, in the long run they may have bought more problems than they got rid of.

It highlights how lucky we were with Trump. We were reaching the point we would have accepted anyone in the office to turn back the tide of leftism. Quite often it is those moments that the worst possible choice presents itself to take advantage of the opportunity.

Leftists should take note of the dangers of their game. Push the right far enough, and it is not impossible a leader will arise who will chose to deal with the left violently. As the SJWs become ever more raucous, expect the right to be less and less bothered by the possibility.
