The Kevin McCarthy Double Ironic Foul Up
This situation with the speaker of the house, when completely deconstructed turns out to be not only hilarious but strategically a complete foul up by Pelosi and the Democrats who had every opportunity in the world to throw a few votes to McCarthy long before he had to make a slew of concessions to the most right-wing of the Republicans.
This conciliatory move would have put him over the top and shown some grace on the part of the Democrats. Instead, they did as told and threw their votes to a symbolic Democrat candidate Hakeem Jeffries, a radical. What was the point of that?
The first irony was the fact that there was such a slim majority of Republicans in the first place. This was orchestrated by the Democrats and made it possible for 20 holdouts to put a stranglehold on the approval of McCarthy. Normally with a typical midterm majority of 40-50 seats the 20 holdouts would not matter. Pelosi herself got voted in with 20 dissenters.
So having orchestrated that, the mystery remains why didn’t the Democrats simply throw 20 votes (or all their votes) right away at McCarthy thus making sure no concessions were made to the extreme right wing? All the concessions are aimed at investigations of the Democrats, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden etc.
So what were they thinking? Were they merely showing off that they would vote as a single block of robots when told to? It’s obvious that no real strategy was employed by the Democrats except to eventually highlight that the Trump wing of the Republican party got its way. And Nancy Pelosi is praised as some sort of terrific Speaker-of-the-House. What a farce.
This conclusion, which stems from mere logic is typical of your No Agenda analysis, is hardly something you’ll ever get from the mainstream/corporate media which is lockstep with the Democratic party. The mere concept that Pelosi could screw this up so badly is unthinkable to them. They all followed the edict to mock the Republicans as a party in disarray and portray them as clowns instead of seeing the danger of what was occurring. Rubes.
Could be , Uni-party gamed this out early when McCarthy ran into trouble..this way he could promise the moon to any opposition ,knowing the dimms were all onboard and would wait to shoot down todays *Rules* vote .

Doctors are like whores standing on the street corner—If the first one don’t do it for you, the next one will. The first thing you need to do is change your thinking. Get medical professionals off the pedestal you have erected in your mind. Pay cash. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. It would shock you to find out how little Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies pay us. Out of a $350 consultation fee we’re lucky if we get $105. For a typical follow up visit we get an average of $35 to $75. Of course doctors and other medical providers want to nickel and dime you because they know you don’t know any better. Both Medicare and Medicaid rates of payment for your area are a matter of public record and can be accessed online. First ask the office for a cash up front price. If you don’t like that price, counter with the Medicare reimbursement rate. If they balk, offer about 15-20% over the Medicare allowable. If they still won’t budge, hang up/walk out. Yup. It’s a thin-skinned tank destroyer, not a tank. Essentially an armored car with a big gun. It was never intended to be a main battle tank. It was built as a light tank scout, but the 105mm smoothbore (same bore that the original M1 was armed with before it was upgraded almost immediately to 120mm because of Russian T-80s) bumps it up into a tank destroyer role.
Frankly, we do the same role with Bradleys and TOW missiles, and the TOW is probably more effective than the 105mm. You get two rapid shots and then a long, exposed reload, but a light scout trying to get more than two shots off before attempting to break contact is already a suicide mission. (For it’s role, I think much more highly of the Bradley than the Abrams in its role.)
The modern sensor suite is probably the most useful part of this weapon system for Ukraine. (It was designed as a recon platform, after all.) They might be able to get some ambush kills on T-72s (the most common Russian tank in Ukraine — right now) and T-80s. If the Russians start putting T-90s or god forbid T-14s out in Ukraine, anyone in an AMX10 within a mile of one is going to have a bad day.
