Sometimes it feels like it:

Through whom (Jesus) we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character; and character produces hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

You won’t be steered wrong following that advice. Whether you believe or not, the Bible is a user’s manual to life, lived in the human machine.

Embrace pain, and feel the strength it is building in your amygdala. View each pang of stress as if it were the burn of a muscle being exercised, and built up. That pain is a rep of exercise for your amygdala. Feel it getting stronger with each rep. See the future, and how much more powerful your brain will be, how much more pain you will be able to function through in the future. That is perseverance you are building, and it will clear your view of reality by eliminating the interference of emotional pain in perception. It will allow you to make more daring plays in life, and endure more hardships, all to better make your way to a better, less painful reality.

Adapt to that harshness. Make it feel normal. Turn it into the watch on your wrist that you do not even notice because you feel it all the time, and the same life will actually feel more wonderful to you as you traverse through it. To say nothing of how much more you will enjoy the even better life you will be able to make your way to, as a person with an amygdala of steel.

Spread r/K Theory, because what doesn’t kill you does make you stronger
