Teens Have Less Sex as r Turns to K

Teens have less sex:

RUSH: From the CBS Eyewitness News San Francisco headline: “American Teens Having Less Sex According to Study.” Wait just a minute. Does anybody believe that? I’ve always been told there’s nothing we can do. I’ve always been told, going back to the early nineties, remember when condoms became a big deal? The AIDS scare was in full bloom, and parents were letting their teenagers have sex in spare bedrooms out on Long Island instead of backseats of the cars because it was cleaner, safer, they thought. And all the while, you know, I would express kind of shock at this.

I’d have callers, enlightened callers tell me, “Rush, you can’t stop kids from having sex. There’s nothing you can do. You can’t stop it…”

But now all of a sudden “American teenagers supposedly are having less sex –” now, get this next part of the sentence. Let me just read the whole sentence to you.

“American teens are having less sex, especially boys. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention surveyed roughly 2,000 boys and girls, 15 to 19 and found the percentage of teens who reported they had sex at least once has dropped significantly since the ’80s. The decline for male teens was greater than female teens.”

Some try to blame it on porn availability, but the surge in porn availability began with the internet in the nineties. Seeing the decline right now wouldn’t jibe with a sudden increase in porn availability being the cause. Hook-up apps for smartphones should increase sexual activity, but it has declined despite them as well. Heartiste and all his followers, revealing the ease of Game to millions, should be pushing the curve higher. But they aren’t.

This reduction in sexual drive is the dramatic effect of subtly diminishing resource availability. It is reduced dopamine, heightened threat and aggression, resentment at being lied to, irritation at a corrupt system, and a subtle feel that something dangerous is coming. This is the unadjusted Misery Curve, the Conservative Policy Index, and the rising nationalism we see everywhere. It is militant beheadings, violent minorities rioting, and desperate migrants clawing into Europe. It is Gamergate, the Hugos, and the excitement about Donald Trump gleefully insulting everyone and calling a corrupt system out for what it is publicly.

It is r turning into K, and the rise of the Wolf, all due to a minor resource restriction. Imagine what drastically reducing resource availability will do, not just to sexual drive, but to aggression, intolerance of out-groups, competitiveness, nationalism, protectiveness, and all the other K-traits.

“Changing sexual mores could explain the overall decline, but one expert believes it is because teens are better educated about sex…”

RUSH: Well, I’m gonna take this at face value, and then offer some unique commentary available only here. So let’s accept this at face value, American teenagers are having less sex according to study. Note that this is a problem to people reporting the story. Oh, no, what’s wrong? (laughing) A scant 30 years ago this would have been a great news story. It would have been worth celebrating. Parents would have been happy, the churches would have been happy, a lot of people would have been running around trying to take credit for this. But here in 2015, it’s a problem.

American teenagers are having less sex and all of these experts are asking themselves, what are we doing wrong?

That is the rabbit looking at the nascent wolf, and feeling in his bones that something awful is happening.

Apocalypse cometh.

The teen boy who isn’t getting laid isn’t K because he wants to be K. He wants to be “r”, but he’s failing at getting sex from the r-selected girls who are giving sex to the tallest, most popular, highest status teen guys. Not getting laid doesn’t make someone K if they’re “r” in mentality.

Teen boys having less sex than teen girls means alpha fucks/beta bucks is increasing. The teen sexual market is becoming an ever more polarized dichotomy. The article doesn’t say how much less sex the boys are having relative to the girls, probably because it doesn’t paint the teen girls with a nice brush.

I don’t think this has anything to do with resource restriction. Read the above: the decline in teen sex is mostly a male phenomena. In other words, women are still having loads of sex, but only with a handful of badboys. A few guys get harems while most guys are crowded out of the sexual marketplace. Its the decline of monogamous pairings in favor of polygynous. If anything, it is K becoming more r.

Also, while internet porn became prevalent in the 90s, private computer access for teenagers wasnt. An entire family may have had shared access to a single computer in a family room. Much harder for Billy to sneak a quickie. Now computers and internet capable phones have become cheap enough and ubiquitous enough that most children have their own, to use in privacy.

This means that the proportion of kids having sex before they hit their 20s is pretty stable right now. Of course, because these numbers are polled together, they don’t tell the whole story.
